Carnival Freedom

Carnival Cruise Line History

Founded in 1972 as Carnival Cruise Lines, Carnival Corporation’s flagship brand sets pace as the world’s largest cruise line, carrying more passengers than any other. Today’s Carnival -- far from modest beginnings -- defines contemporary cruising with expanded options in dining, youth fare, spa pampering, and shipboard weddings. "At Carnival, we take 'fun' very seriously," says Bob Dickinson, Carnival president. Primary cruising areas are the Bahamas-Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, New England, Bermuda, and Europe. Primary homeports are Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Jacksonville, and Tampa in Florida, plus Long Beach, New Orleans, Galveston, Vancouver, New York, Mobile, and San Juan.
